British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty’s personal wealth rose by £122 million last year, according to the Sunday Times Rich List. The couple’s wealth was estimated at £651 million in the latest list, up from £529 million in 2023.
The family is richer than King Charles III, according to the Sunday Times’ latest annual list of the UK’s richest people.
Charles III he ranked higher than the Sunak family last year, but his personal fortune has seen a slight gain over the past year, from £10m to £610m.

The couple ranked higher than the late Queen in 2022 – with the personal fortune of Elizabeth II. in this year calculated at 370 million pounds.
Mr Sunak appears as Prime Minister in the 2022 edition of The Sunday Times and is the first front-line politician to appear in the annual Sunday Times Rich List in its 35-year history.
The couple’s rise in fortunes is linked to Murty’s stake in Infosys, the $70bn (£55.3bn) Indian IT company co-founded by her father NR Narayana Murthy. The value of its shares rose by £108.8m in the year to almost £590m. The couple’s wealth remains below the 2022 level when it was estimated at £730m, The Guardian reported.
The annual Sunday Times list showed the number of British billionaires falling for the second year in a row, continuing a theme from 2023. The UK had 177 billionaires in 2022, down from 171 last year and down again to 165 this year.
