Spiritual leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev is recovering well and has returned to normal life after a “life-threatening” bleeding in the skull, the treating doctors said.
A senior consultant neurologist who led the team of doctors attending to Sadhguru said he was facing a “life-threatening situation”.
He is said to have been suffering from severe headaches for the past four weeks. Despite the pain, he continued his daily life and social activities and even performed Shivaratri on March 8.

The headache worsened on March 15, when he consulted doctors. The spiritual leader underwent an MRI of the brain the same day and it revealed massive bleeding in the skull.
“The operation was performed on March 17 to remove bleeding in the skull. Sadhguru was weaned from the ventilator after the operation,” Indraprastha Apollo Hospital said in a statement, adding that he was showing “stable progress” and “vital parameters have improved”.
The 66-year-old spiritual guru is the founder of the Isha Foundation and has launched campaigns like ‘Save the Soil’ and ‘Rather for Rivers’ to protect soil and environment.
Sadhguru was advised immediate hospitalization and an appropriate adjustment of his medication schedule, but he had important appointments and events scheduled for March 15 and 16, he said, completing the appointments with the support of pain medication.
On March 17, he experienced a decreased level of consciousness and muscle weakness in his left leg and was admitted to a medical facility where he was treated by Suri.
A CT scan revealed a significant increase in brain swelling and a decision was made to operate. Sadhguru underwent emergency brain surgery on March 17 to remove bleeding from his skull, the statement said.
