Facebook and Instagram services were restored on Tuesday night after reports of power outages in India and many other parts of the world. Users have complained about login issues on both these social media platforms. They were logged out of both Facebook and Instagram. Some failed to restore Instagram pages. Many users were also asked to change their password. Soon after, YouTube users also started facing a similar problem.
The outage began around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday with 500,000 outage reports for Facebook and 70,000 for Instagram, according to the outage-tracking website Downdetector.com.

According to the website, which tracks outages by collecting status reports from several sources, including users, there were more than 3,00,000 outage reports for Facebook, while there were more than 20,000 for Instagram.
Users trying to access Facebook were asked to log in but were unable to log in with the correct password.
On Instagram, the mobile user feeds were not updated.
The outage was among the most-followed topics on X, with several users reporting that they were suddenly logged out of the Meta-owned social media platforms.
The Meta status bar showed that the API for WhatsApp Business is also facing problems. There have been around 200 reports of WhatsApp outages on Downdetector, which tracks outages by collecting status messages from multiple sources, including users.
