Consumer packaged goods maker Procter & Gamble India on Monday announced the appointment of Kumar Venkatasubramanian as the company’s new CEO with effect from May 1, 2024.
Venkatasubramanian will replace LV Vaidyanathan, who is leaving the company to pursue other interests after 28 years of service to P&G, maker of the Ariel, Tide, Whisper, Olay and Gillette brands. Vaidyanathan took over as CEO of P&G India on 1 July 2022.

Venkatasubramanian, 48, is a graduate of IIM Calcutta and started his journey with P&G in the India sales team in 2000. He brings with him more than two decades of experience, most of it in India in various sales roles. He currently leads the P&G business in Australia and New Zealand as CEO. Prior to his stint in Australia, Venkatasubramanian led the sales team at P&G India until 2020.
Procter & Gamble (P&G) India comprises four separate entities, including two major listed companies – Gillette India and Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Health Care. P&G has invested more than ₹8,200 crore in its operations in the country over the past decade.
Current CEO Vaidyanathan also started his career at P&G India as an intern in 1995 and worked his way up.
