The humidity and the heat wave are kicking the City of Joy hard. After reaching a record maximum temperature of 40.6 degrees Celsius yesterday, Kolkata is facing yet another heatwave today, the Regional Meteorological Center in Alipore warned.
Reports say yesterday’s temperature broke records for the hottest day in the last two years for Kolkata. Unfortunately, even today does not bring any respite to the city.
AccuWeather has predicted a maximum daily temperature of 40 degrees Celsius for the city, which the city’s residents will not be happy to hear.

Schools were supposed to reopen on June 20, but will instead reopen on June 30.
