House of Dragon season 2 now has a premiere date. The much-anticipated second season of the prequel show Game of Thrones made quite a statement upon its release as it teased fans of the books and series of the new world, dragons and their rulers.
House of Dragon season 2 will be released this June on HBO. It was during an interview at Morgan Stanley’s Technology, Media and Telecom conference that the head of streaming and gaming at Warner Bros. Discovery’s J.B. Perrette revealed the premiere month of the Game of Thrones spinoff prequel series.
Earlier, HBO boss Casey Bloys said that House of Dragon season 2 will likely have an “early summer” premiere date. CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery’s David Zaslav added in February that we should be looking at “Next Quarter” of the release.
House of Dragon is based on the books by George RR Martin
House of Dragon is based on the Game of Thrones book by George RR Martin Fire & Blood which follows the story of The House of Targaryen. The story is based on a fictional region called Westeros and takes place almost 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and about 100 years after the Targaryens united the Seven Kingdoms.
House of Dragon season 1 had 10 episodes and aired from August 21 to October 23, 2022. It was renewed for season 2 just one week after the series premiere.
