The Mumbai police on Sunday clarified that a false complaint has been filed against actor Raveena Tandon with the Khar police. She was charged with drunk driving, reckless driving and assault.
“The complainant made a false complaint in the alleged video. We checked the entire CCTV footage of the company and found that the actress’ driver was reversing the car from the road into the company when this family was crossing the same lane. The family stopped the car and told the driver that he should check if there are people behind the car before reversing and an argument started between them,” the DCP said.
Meanwhile, the actress shared a screenshot of Viral Bhayani’s post on her social media platform X, formerly Twitter. The post found that this was a false allegation and a review of CCTV footage showed that Tandon’s car did not hit anyone and that he was not drunk.

As the dispute escalated, Raveena stopped to see how her driver was doing and tried to shield him from the crowd. The couple went to the Khar police station to file complaints, but subsequently withdrew them. “The argument turned into verbal abuse and actress Raveena Tandon reached the spot to confirm what had happened to the driver. The actress tried to protect the driver from the crowd; however, the crowd began abusing her. Both Raveena Tandon and the family went to the Khar police station and lodged a written complaint. Later, both of them also sent letters stating that they did not want to register any complaints,”.
