India’s bowlers, led by the outstanding Jasprit Bumrah, were collectively brilliant and led their team to a thrilling six-run win over Pakistan in a low-scoring T20 World Cup match on Sunday.
Chasing a low target of 120 runs in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024 match against India on Sunday, Pakistan failed to complete the target and lost the match by six runs.
The maximum score for Pakistan was Mohammad Rizwan who made 31 runs while the others could not even get past 15 runs. Pakistan barely managed to score 113 runs after losing seven wickets in 20 overs.
Jasprit Bumrah picked up three wickets for India while Hardik Pandya sent two batters to the pavilion. Axar Patel and Arshdeep Singh also took one wicket each.
After the start was delayed due to rain, the Indian batsmen failed to score against Pakistan and were bundled out for 119 runs in 19 overs.
Apart from Rishabh Pant, no other Indian batsman could cross the 40 mark. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s bowlers dominated from the start. For Pakistan, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah took three wickets each, while Mohammad Amir and Shaheen Shah Afridi took two and one wicket respectively.

Pakistan’s Babar Azam won the toss and elected to field first against Rohit Sharma-led India. The match started at 11:20 local time (20:50 IST) at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
Both teams played their second tournament group match at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York from 8:00 PM (IST onwards).
