Team India captain Rohit Sharma slammed a magnificent half-century to lead his team to an 8-wicket win against Ireland in the first match of the T20 World Cup 2024. Paul Stirling-led Ireland were restricted to a low score of 96 runs as Hardik Pandya and other pacers did a brilliant job at the New York Stadium. Arshdeep Singh conceded some crucial runs in the death overs which boosted Ireland’s score.
India won the toss and captain Rohit Sharma elected to bowl first. Indian national cricket today plays with five pacers.

The Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team is all set to kick off their T20 World Cup 2024 campaign at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on Wednesday, where they will play their first match against Ireland.
