Apple’s India iPhone exports soar, set to cross Rs 1 trillion mark in FY25

Apple’s fiscal year 2025 (FY25) began with a remarkable increase in iPhone exports from India. Exports of domestically-made iPhones nearly doubled to $1.1 billion (Rs 9,000 crore) in April, compared to $580 million a year ago, The Economic Times (ET) reported, official data reveals. Analysts note that April typically sees muted export activity globally due to the absence of major festive sales events.

Buoyed by this surge, experts predict the tech giant will cross the Rs 1 trillion export milestone in FY25, making India its second-largest iPhone manufacturing hub outside China. Currently, iPhones are manufactured exclusively in India and China, with experts estimating that 14-15 percent of production has already moved to India, with this number expected to rise to 26 percent by 2026.

Apple exports most of its total production mainly from India. In FY24, the company’s total production in India reached $14 billion (Rs 1.2 trillion), with exports exceeding $10 billion (Rs 85,000 crore). These figures represent the highest achieved by any company in India in a single financial year.
