Sharing the clip of Padukone, the official Oscars page captioned it, “Deepika Padukone plays Deewani Mastani (sung by Shreya Ghoshal) from Bajirao Mastani. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra.”
The top commentator for the clip, in which she also features in the said song, is none other than Padukone’s husband and co-star Ranveer Singh. He commented, “Mesmeric!” A fan wrote, “Deepika’s beauty in this song, I don’t think any other actress could have pulled it off like she did, this will go down as one of the all-time greats in Hindi cinema!”
Last March, Padukone performed a rendition of the Oscar-winning RRR song Naatu Naatu at the 95th Academy Awards in Los Angeles. Composed by MM Keeravaani, Naatu Naatu made history by becoming the first ever Telugu song to not only be performed and nominated but also win at the Oscars.
