The 71st Miss World pageant returned to India after almost 28 years. The much awaited grand finale was held at the Jio Global Convention Center in Mumbai and was hosted by Karan Johar. Held under the theme “Beauty with a Purpose”, 112 contestants from around the world competed for the coveted title.
Czech Krystyna Pyszková, after months of demanding preparations, dedication and hard work, defeated 111 contestants and became the winner of Miss World. Her journey was marked by perseverance as she honed her skills and showcased her talent on the global stage. Krystyna Pyszková won the hearts of judges and viewers with her determination and passion and earned the prestigious title of Miss World.
Krystyna Pyszková’s victory is a testament to her unwavering commitment to excellence and serves as an inspiration to aspiring beauty queens around the world. She was crowned by last year’s Miss World 2022 winner Karolina Bielawska from Poland. The climactic moment was emotional and left many in tears.
The first runner-up was Yasmin Azaytoun from Lebanon.

India’s representative, hosting the event for the first time in 28 years, was 22-year-old Sini Shetty. Mumbai-born Shetty was crowned Femina Miss India World 2022, but failed to make it to the top four of the pageant.
India has won the prestigious title six times – Rita Faria (1966), Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (1994), Diana Hayden (1997), Yukta Mukhi (1999) and Priyanka Chopra. · Jonas (2000), Manushi Chilar (2017).
The 12-member jury for the final included film producer Sajid Nadiadwala; actors Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hegde; cricketer Harbhajan Singh; news personality Rajat Sharma, social worker Amruta Fadnavis; Vineet Jain, MD of Bennett, Coleman & Co. Limited; Julia Morley, President and CEO of the Miss World Organization; Jamil Saidi, strategic partner and host – Miss World India and three former Miss Worlds, including Chillar.

Filmmaker Karan Johar and former Miss World Megan Young hosted the event, which kicked off on a high note with performances by singers Shaan, Neha Kakkar and Tony Kakkar.
