Smartphone Giant Xiaomi Officially Reveals Its First EV!

Chinese tech giant Xiaomi unveiled its first electric vehicle (EV), the SU7, and announced its ambitious plans to become one of the world’s top five automakers. The sedan, which stands for Speed Ultra, should hit the market in a few months. Figures revealed by the company show that the new electric car could join the ranks of Teslas upon launch.

Xiaomi SU7 was introduced in two variants: SU7 and SU7 Max. The SU7 is rear-wheel drive, while the SU7 Max is an all-wheel drive version.

Specifications of Xiaomi SU7 Max:

Acceleration: 0-100 km/h in 2.78 seconds
Indicated range: 800 km
Top speed: 265 km/h
Power: 673 PS
Torque: 838 Nm

The SU7 is expected to appeal to customers as it shares its operating system with popular Xiaomi phones and other electronic devices. This integration allows drivers to seamlessly access the company’s existing portfolio of mobile apps.

Xiaomi, China’s fifth-largest smartphone maker, is looking to diversify away from its core electric car business amid stagnant smartphone demand. Xiaomi has pledged to invest $10 billion in cars over ten years and is one of the few new players in China’s EV market to win regulatory approval.
