Ukraine hopes India will play key role in global peace summit

Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister Iryna Borovec said on Thursday that India must play a “vital role” in finding a peaceful solution to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.

“India has an important role to play,” Borots told ANI. First, India is a global leader and certainly a strong voice for the countries of the Global South. India respects our territorial integrity. In this sense, we fully support them. But India could be more vocal, could take more steps to find a peaceful solution.”

She also said that Ukraine has invited India to the World Peace Summit to be held in March in Switzerland.

Borovec added that India must be part of the solution to find peace. “We have invited the Indian government to attend the global peace summit in Switzerland in March. We are very much expecting a representative of India there,” she added.
