Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year: Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli was named the ODI Cricketer of the Year. He had a stellar year with the bat, scoring 1377 runs at an average of 72 and a strike rate of 99. He was the second-highest run-scorer in over-50 cricket in the year behind teammate Shubman Gill, but Kohli’s phenomenal World Cup campaign saw him tally a record 765 runs, which had the effect of won the honors.
Men’s Cricketer of the Year: Pat Cummins
Australia captain Pat Cummins, who has enjoyed an enviable 2023 as both captain and player, won the men’s player of the year at the ICC awards, which were announced on Thursday (January 25). His leadership success was complemented by his excellent bowling as Cummins finished as the sixth highest wicket-taker across formats in 2023. In Tests, he was second on the wicket-taking list behind teammate Nathan Lyon.
Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year: Usman Khawaja
Usman Khawaja fittingly won the Test Cricket Men’s Award of the Year. The left-hander was the only batsman to cross the 1000-run mark in 2023, scoring 1210 runs at a healthy average of 52 with three centuries and six fifties.
Women’s Cricketer of the Year: Nat Sciver-Brunt
Nat Sciver-Brunt has had another outstanding year and has been named Women’s Cricketer of the Year for the second time in a row. She didn’t top the run charts in either ODIs or T20Is, but that was largely because she didn’t feature in every game for England.
Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year: Chamari Athapaththu
Just as impressive as the Englishwoman was Chamari Athapaththu, who was named the ICC Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year. The Sri Lankan captain was the only batsman among those to score more than 400 runs in 2023, and the strike number crossed 100.
Women’s T20I Cricketer of the Year: Hayley Matthews
West Indies captain Hayley Matthews won the Women’s T20I Player of the Year for her outstanding performance in the shortest format. She finished with 700 runs from 14 innings at an average of 63.6 at a strike rate of 132.3 including one century and four fifties.
Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year: Suryakumar Yadav
India’s Suryakumar Yadav won the T20I Player of the Year award for the second consecutive year. The top-rated batter in the format endured another successful year with the willow with 733 runs at an average of 48 and a strike rate of 159.6 coated with two tons and five fifties.

New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra won the Men’s Rookie of the Year award for his impressive batting performance, mainly in the ODI format. He rose to fame in the World Cup, finishing the year with impressive statistics of 820 runs at a healthy average of 41 and a strike rate of 108.
Men’s Associate Cricketer of the Year: Bas de Leede
Bas de Leede took home the men’s Associate Cricketer of the Year award for his all-round contributions that were crucial to the Netherlands’ success, particularly their qualification for the ODI World Cup.
